VIDEO COMPETITION
ACPI (l'Association canadienne des professeurs d'immersion) holds a video competition each year where immersion students in grades 9–12 can win university scholarships by creating a short video based on an annual theme.
The name of this competition is IMMERSION CLIP. We have had many scholarship winners of the 1st prize over the years here at ASH ($12,000 scholarship)! We have also had many students win the 2nd and 3rd place prizes (2nd prize = $8,000, 3rd prize = $4,000).
French teachers at ASH often have students enter the competition in their French classes in both semesters. If an immersion student is not participating with their classroom teacher during the first semester, or does not have a French class this semester, they are welcome to attend a meeting in Room 202 with Mme Venedam if they would like to participate. Guidance will be given to any student who wishes to take part in this excellent opportunity.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 14. All grade 9–12 immersion students are welcome.
Please note: Grade 9 - 12 examinations and Rich Summative Tasks (RSTs) WILL NOT be rescheduled for holiday or travel convenience, and all appointments should be scheduled so as not to conflict with exams and RSTs. If a medical problem arises, a Vice-Principal must be contacted prior to the exam or RST.
The dates for RSTs differ from class to class, but in general, they mostly take place at the end of each semester. The exam dates for first semester are January 21 to 28 and second semester are June 17 to 23.

STUDENT DROP OFF/PICK UP
As is the case with most schools, there is A LOT of traffic around the school at the beginning and end of the day. The designated drop-off area is found at the East end of the parking lot (see the white arrows in the picture on the left). The parking area directly in front of the school is designated for special transportation pick-up and drop-off. The bus loop is reserved for yellow buses only. Please do not turn into the staff parking area.
Drop-offs or pick-ups in the no stopping zones found along Kanata Avenue can result in dangerous situations. Bylaw has ticketed in the past. We encourage all community members to adhere to the street signage posted. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
