SCHOOL UPDATES

NEW STUDENT OPEN HOUSE

Students that are new to All Saints are invited to an Open House on Wednesday, August 26. 

New Grade 7/8's: 10:00am - 11:30am
New Grade 9-12's: 11:30am - 1:00pm

Drop by to explore the school, ask question and meet new people! Registered new students receive a t-shirt and slice of pizza from the cafeteria. Other food and drinks will also be available for purchase.

STUDENT SCHEDULES
Grade 7-8 student schedules will be distributed on the first day of school. 

Grade 9-12 student schedules will be posted on my.studentinfo.ca on Friday, August 28 at 4:00PM. Our Student Services department is continuing to work on balancing high school classes (gr 9-12) schedules. Any course information currently available through student applications and Google accounts is subject to change.   

All students are expected to follow their schedule, even if they apply for a course change. Course Change Requests will open on my.studentinfo.ca on Wednesday, August 26 at 4:00PM, an electronic parent signature must be included.  Students will be notified if and when a change is made. 

Students can access their my.studentinfo.ca account using their student email and password.  New students will recieve their email and password from their teacher. 

FIRST DAY PROCEDURES

Specific information about the first day of school, including homeroom assignments, room numbers, and instructions for students in Grades 7 and 8, will be shared with parents and guardians by Monday, August 31 via email.  Grade 7 students will go directly to the Cafeteria Gymnasium where homeroom teachers will be waiting in alphabetical order.  Grade 8 students can proceed to the room indicated in the email to be sent by Monday, August 31.

Students in grades 9-12 can proceed directly to their homeroom classroom. Information will sent to students on my.studentinfo.ca. Students without access can talk to a staff member on Tuesday morning.

School Supplies 

Please remember to bring a combination lock on the first day. The following items are recommended for the first day:

• A pen and pencil

• A binder with lined paper

• A lunch or money for the cafeteria servery

• Your Chromebook (fully charged)

• Non-marking running shoes for Phys Ed

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

Students are assigned to one of four transportation modes:

1. Yellow School Bus 

2. Van Transportation

3. OC Transpo - Student Pass

4. Walking

Please check your student’s assigned transportation in the OSTA Parent Portal (via the OSTA website).

OC Transpo - Student Pass Pick Up
Students assigned to OC Transpo will receive a Student Bus Pass. See OSTA's OC Transpo page for details. 

Passes can be picked up at All Saints front office on Tuesday, August 25th, Wednesday August 26th, or Thursday August 27th between 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Alternatively, arrange transportation for the first day of school and your student will receive their pass then.

PARENT/GUARDIAN BACK TO SCHOOL CHECKLIST

To help you and your family prepare for the new year, we have created a checklist for you to reference before the start of school. This will help ensure you and your student do not miss out on exciting news and opportunities during the year.  Please complete the following as soon as possible.

• Register for a SchoolMessenger Account           

• Register for a Parent Portal Account (if you are new to the OCSB you won't be able to create an account until the first day of school)           

• Register for a School Cash Online Account

SCENT-FREE ENVIRONMENT

Some students and staff have reported allergies to scents and sprays. We ask all students to follow the scent-free environment policy. Most importantly, sprays are not to be used in the school and we ask everyone to refrain from wearing strongly scented products.  

STUDENT FEES

The student fee is $30.00 per student with a family maximum of $60.00.  Payment can be made on SchoolCash Online.  Student fees are used to supplement the cost of Student Council activities, spirit building activities, field trips, awards, school clubs, teams and activities. 

SCHOOL DAY SCHEDULE

Our school day begins promptly at 8:20am and finishes at 2:30 pm. Students are asked to be here with enough time to go to their locker, remove their coats/boots and be seated in homeroom by the time the 8:20 am bell rings.  Students arriving to class after the bell are marked late for class.   

ATTENDANCE REPORTING

Late arrivals will result in an email to the parent with their sign in time.  Students who are at appointments will also receive the notification.  We appreciate parent communication for lates and absences. 

Our school uses SafeArrival to report student absences. SafeArrival is designed to make it easier, faster, and more convenient for families to report absences and late arrivals.

With SafeArrival, there's no need to call the school and leave a message. Instead, you can quickly and securely report your child's absence in one of three ways:

• Using the SM Home App: Download and install the SM Home app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

• Online: Visit home.schoolmessenger.ca.

• Phone: Call the toll-free number 1-844-478-2598 and follow the prompts

LUNCH TIME

Grade 7-8 students will eat in the cafeteria every day during lunch.  Intermediate students are not permitted to leave school property at lunch.  Any student needing to leave at lunch time must be signed out and picked up by a parent.

High School students are permitted to leave the school property at lunch time.   

CELLPHONES, EARBUDS, & PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICES

Personal electronic devices, including cell phones and earbuds, are not to be used during instructional time. Students who need to access a device for medical or documented learning needs will be allowed. Students will only be permitted to use their cell phones during lunch, before and after school.  

Smart glasses are not allowed. Bluetooth speakers or other speakers are not allowed on campus. 

Intermediate students must keep their devices in their locker. High School students must keep theirs out of sight and silent. 

If you need to contact your student, please call the main office and we will help. 

CHROMEBOOKS/LAPTOPS

We strongly recommend students bring their own Chromebook or laptop. Students who are not able to bring their own device should let their Homeroom teacher know.

LOCKERS

Homeroom teachers will provide information about lockers. All students are required to bring their own lock on the first day. It is very important to purchase a good quality lock. We encourage students to leave valuable items that are not needed for school at home. 

STUDENT MEDICAL INFORMATION

In preparation for the 2026/27 academic year, we kindly request that families of interest complete the essential medical documentation forms.

If your child/student has a serious medical condition (asthma, life-threatening allergy, diabetes, epilepsy/seizures), you will need to inform the school using the Life-Threatening Medical Condition Verification Form as well as submit an appropriate condition-specific Plan of Care form (attached below are the required forms). We ask that parents complete these forms each year to ensure we have up-to-date information regarding your child/students medical conditions. If the Plan of Care form has been previously submitted and there are no changes, please complete the Plan of Care Annual Review Sheet only. In addition, if your child requires an epipen or inhaler, please ensure they carry a valid one with them and provide one to the main office. STUDENT PARKING

Students parking is not available on school property. In the past, students have parked their vehicles in the Whalen Park parking lot. Students must follow City of Ottawa bylaws when parking on public property.
