Grade 8 Finding your Pathway

posted Oct 8, 2014, 7:45 AM by Angela Flemming

Determining one’s career/life pathway is a challenging and exciting process. To help our students get started, Grade 8 students participate in a one day event called Finding Your Pathway Forum – a High School programs / Career Pathway awareness opportunity for all Grade 8 students. This event was previously known as World of Work / WRK4U2.

Finding Your Pathway Forum offers Grade 8 students the opportunity to explore all post-secondary pathways – apprenticeship, college, community living, university, and workplace, by visiting exhibitor booths representing assorted employment sectors. Students may speak directly with community partners and employers, as well as high school students and teachers from Focus, Specialist High Skills Major, and other specialized programs offered in our schools.

Parents/Guardians are welcome to attend this event.

It is a wonderful opportunity to explore career/life pathway options and opportunities, and to learn about the assorted specialized programs available to our students.

Through initiatives like this, we hope to inspire our students to engage in this exciting opportunity so that they will become architects of their own lives.
